Pack a Bag of Kindness

As we are heading into the 2020-2021 school year and the re-opening of businesses, we’re bringing lots of new things along with us for the ride. For you it could be new ideas, subjects to learn, new learning styles, new delivery methods, new school supplies… so why not bring kindness!

I told my neighbors who are going back to work and their daughter starting high school, “Just like you pack your lunch every day, pack a bag of kindness along with it!”.

So make sure this new school year and in the workplace the following is a goal to achieve – do an act of kindness on your lunch break, snack break, or anytime during the school/work day. If someone is looking a little blue on Zoom, give them a compliment. Bring an extra cookie and give it to someone who could use a sweet treat. If someone is shy and eating alone in the cafeteria, sit 6 feet away from them and start up a conversation. Even if they are not in the mood to talk, you still made the effort.

Especially with COVID-19, we do not know what others are going through at home and in life right now. The outer shell of someone can be perceived differently than what they actually feel or hold inside.

Bringing kindness to all is super important. One small drop of kindness in a person’s life can change their mindset and outlook on life at the moment. It may provide much needed positive encouragement for someone to keep moving.

Keep in mind to pack kindness with you and let me know in the comments what acts of kindness you’re going to pack with you everyday starting back to school and work!
