Show Your Brain Some Love
Our brains use a lot of energy. It may not seem like it, but our brains are constantly working from the time we wake up in the morning to the time we fall asleep. From critical thinking at work to problem-solving at school, socializing, ordering an ice cream cone, or even deciding what to cook for dinner. On top of this, add in television, scrolling through social media, and other technologies that, while they’re not as tasking, are very stimulating for our brains.
So let’s be kind to our brains! Take a moment. Take time. Take time to unclutter your mind. Go for a walk, look around you, and look at the nature near you. Or close your eyes and breathe, letting your mind think of nothing except for your breathing.
Don’t think of your to-do list, your next homework assignment, your next meeting, or what you need to cook for dinner. Give yourself a few minutes to let your mind wander and breathe. This might be what you need to bring good energy into the moment and let your mind feel restored for the next task at hand.
Show your brain some love and gift yourself peacefulness today and throughout this year.
