A Batch of Joy
A few Christmas’ ago, I made a batch of Christmas cookies.
It was Christmastime 2019. Before COVID-19, before I finished college. Much has changed since then. Today, I came across these photos on my phone, looking for another image. It was no mistake.
- Were they super fun to make? Yes!
- Did I intend on eating them all? Yes!
- Was my kitchen a mess? Yes…but all worth it!
My mom thought why not give some away to our friends who could use a little making spirits bright.
So, I wrapped a few up into some containers. Picking which person should have which color and shape, I also kept a few for myself 🙂
Our friends were very happy and thankful for the cookies. They really enjoyed the special holiday treat! I have to admit, I was a little sad to share the treats. I would have loved to keep them all for my mom and I, even though there was plenty to share.
The 1st thing that came to mind when I saw the Christmas cookie photos was, “These are the ones I shared with some friends of ours.”
“They really enjoyed those, and I enjoyed making them,” I thought today.
The point is, I didn’t jump to remember wanting to keep all the cookies for myself, or being left with a less amount. Instead, the pictures are associated with the joy of making them, being creative with the colors, sprinkles, and shapes. Especially the joy, thankfulness, and appreciativeness of our friends. The cookies were a batch of joy, for me to make and to watch our friends receive.
Share a batch of joy this Christmas.
Be kind, have fun, and always remember to Be Yourself Be Strong And Be Beautiful®
